Over the next few posts I want to explain what data I collect in my house and how it gets processed.
Why I collect data
A few months ago one of my two SMA photovoltaic inverters broke and had to be replaced. Since both were already a few years old, I figured I'd replace both of them with one new big inverter and went with the Tripower 6.0.
I was pleased to find that the device includes Wifi, Ethernet, Modbus and a whole bunch of other modules.
After seeing what data the system makes available to me, I immediately fell into a kind of collecting frenzy.
What data I collect
Right now I'm processing the output of my PV system and almost all the values from my heating system. More on that in the upcoming posts.
My goals
In addition to the PV system and the heating, I also want to measure water and oil consumption and build a weather station.
